Space, Sea & Fire
There is a method to the madness of a fashion designer’s collection. This is of course a school project, so it's sort of an example of what the real world .
It all starts with inspiration & research. I mostly used the Polimoda library for all the photos I have. I looked through books finding photos that caught my eye and sparked my creativity. You also have to imagine your customer. Who are you designing for and what is their lifestyle like?
Usually a collection is broken down into groups, incorporating different things you are inspired by. But everything relates to each other, shapes, colors, draping or details, etc..

Each group includes; a Mood board, which you make for each collection incorporating pictures of your inspiration, a color story & fabric, fashion figures and flats. (Flat drawings are used in production, they are precise, including stitch lines and dimensions.)
