Sweet Peach
Since I don’t have any pictures of the first garments and drawings I did at FIT, I’m going to start with the earliest photos I have. The reason I don’t have digital photos is because I still had a 35mm back then. I’m pretty sure all the evidence of my early school days in the Big Apple is stashed away in my childhood bedroom.
This is kind of a great way to start the blog because this is the first garment I made that I truly love. Our assignment was to go out shopping for old clothing, deconstruct it and make something new. We could use a certain yardage of new fabric as well. During the creation of this dress I realized that this is what I really want to do. It brought out my creativity and I had so much fun making it. I even burned the bodice with the iron and had to repair it, which in turn brought out more creative thinking.
