Wedding
Hello lovelies! I’ve been a bit disconnected this past year. And I have a good reason!
My husband, Danial & I had our vow renewal with our family and friends. We eloped in 2016 and knew we would have a big party to celebrate and we finally pulled it off.
So, I spent 2018 planning a killer party and making everyone’s clothes!
Thanks to Megan Lee Photography for capturing our magical weekend!
Check out our incredible video that captured the weekend.
First thing’s first! THE DRESS! Ok, so it’s super simple, I wanted to be comfortable, I wanted to DANCE! I wanted to feel like myself and I wanted to dye it with natural dyes. I got the silk at Mood in NYC and am so happy with how it turned out!
The weather out here is always a mystery, and the nights are always cold, so I had to make a jacket for the evening. I’m so happy I did!
I wanted to “Eco Print” the bottom of my dress. I saved flowers and plants all year to do it. Here is a photo showing all of the plants I used, Hollyhocks, Poinsettia, Choke Cherry, Red Onions, Yellow Onions, Eucalyptus & Goldenrod.
I was thrilled with the outcome! Usually with eco prints, you never really know what you’re going to get, so I’m happy that it turned out how I envisioned. After it was finished, I beaded the bottom, tone on tone.
And here is Dan, my handsome husband! He picked out the wool fabric for the vests. I made the vest and tie. The first time I’ve ever really made any men’s clothing. I have so much respect for tailors. It is quite the task!

The tent!
I really had a blank canvas for creative freedom here! And what better way to use fabric scraps than making a bunch of fringe to hang inside the reception tent.

Toasts… We were so moved by how many people spoke to us and what kind words were said. I didn’t stop laughing and crying. Thank you all!
Father / Daughter Dance. I chose, “When I’m 64” by The Beatles. We sang the whole time and Kellan snuck in at the end!
Mother / Son Dance. They blew everyone away!
Our first dance! We spent months mixing a song and choreographing a special dance. We were nervous, but had a blast! View it here.
Party!
I can’t tell you how full my heart was ALL NIGHT. To see people on the dance floor the entire time… to hear people wishing the DJ would play something crappy so they could rest. Our friends really know how to have a good time. Thanks to Drew for being the BEST DJ EVER! And for playing for us until 4am. Worth it.
We are so grateful to our friends and family that made the long journey to spend the weekend with us. We are so lucky to have you in our lives. It’s an event we will never forget.
